HOMOEOPATHY FOR SINUSITIS

Sinusitis is an inflammation, or swelling, of the tissue lining the sinuses. In general the sinuses are filled with air. The bacteria, fungus and virsues can grow in the sinuses when the sinuses are filled with water and blocked due to an infection and inflammation.

There are four different types of sinusitis:

1. Acute sinusitis: sudden onset of cold-like symptoms such as runny, stuffy nose and facial pain . Acute sinusitis typically lasts 4 weeks or less.
2. Subacute sinusitis: An inflammation lasting 4 to 8 weeks.
3. Chronic sinusitis: lasting 8 weeks or longer.
4. Recurrent sinusitis: Several attacks within a year.

The sinuses are connected with the nose. They are lined with the same kind of skin found elsewhere within the respiratory tract. This skin has tiny little hairs projecting from it, called cilia. The cilia beat constantly, to help move the mucus produced in the sinuses into the respiratory tract. The beating cilia sweeping the mucus along the respiratory tract helps to clear the respiratory tract of any debris, or any organisms which may be present. When the lining of the sinuses is at all swollen, the swelling interferes with the normal flow of mucus. Trapped mucus can then fill the sinuses, causing an uncomfortable sensation of pressure and providing an excellent environment for the growth of infection-causing bacteria.

SINUSITIS

Causes :

1. Due to an infection,
2. Common cold.
3. Swelling of the lining of the nose.
4. Nasal polyps (small growths in the lining of the nose), or a deviated septum (a shift in the nasal cavity).

Signs and Symptoms :

He is suffering with sinusitis since 1 year. His complaints worsen by cold weather, light, noise and better by warmth and warm drinks.

His parents were diabetic and hypertensive.

His appetite, thirst, stools and urine were normal. However his sleep was disturbed due to cold.

His case was completely analyzed and prescribed Kali.bich. He visited the clinic after 3 months and got rid of the above complaints.

46 year old lady visited the clinic the following complaints. She is suffering with sinusitis since 4 years

2. yellow and green nasal discharge
3. Pain in one spot under the right eye
4. Headache between the eye brows
5. Blocked nose

Her complaints worsen by stooping , heat, warm room, lying on left side and better by open air, cold application.

Her father was hypertensive and diabetic and asthma. No other medical history present. She was weeping when narrating her complaints.
