ARSENICUM ALBUM

Arsenic is alb is prepared from white oxide of metallic oxide.

Ars.alb patient is Perfectionist. Ars.alb has anxiety, restlessness, periodicity, midnight aggravation  and burning all over the body are keynotes.

All the symptoms are expressed because of dependency on the other people. The patient is very possessive and fastidious in nature.

Ear symptoms

Patient has thin and watery discharges from ear with itching.

Noises in ear.

Eye Symptoms

Pain and burning in eyes. Swelling of eye lids and under the lids. (Conjunctivitis)

Face Symptoms

Face is swollen, pale, yellow, cachectic, sunken and cold, 

Expression of agony. 

Sensation as if  tearing needle-like pains; burning over the face.

Head symptoms

Headache possible  due to exposure to cold.

Patient is restlessness due to chronic burning pains, (Hemicrania) with great weakness. 

Sensitive head in open air.

Head is in constant motion. 

Unbearably itching in scalp with dry scales; More burning and itching at night. (Dandruff). 

Scalp very sensitive.

Mental or Mind symptoms

Patient is depressed, anguish with physical and mental restlessness,
He is full of Anguish, irritable and sensitive.
Patient has fear of death and  thinks it useless to take medicine. He always thinks that the disease is incurable and going to die.
He wants to change the place continuously (e.g., wants to move from one bed to another),

Nose symptoms

Ars alb useful in cold, Hay-fever and sinusitis in winter. Thin, watery, excoriating discharge. 
Nose block with pain and sneezing without relief. 
Someimes he feels burning and bleeding from the nose.

Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms

Ars alb indicated:
Unhealthy and bleeding gums. Mouth ulcers. 

Epithelioma of lips. 

Neuralgia of teeth during winter.

Throat symptoms

Throat is swollen.
Burning sensation in throat.
Difficulty in swallowing.
In diphtheria throat looks dry and wrinkled and forms diphtheritic membrane .

Stomach  symptoms

Patient cannot bear the smell or sight of food. Useful in pregnancy.

Patient has Great thirst so he or she drinks large quantities of water at frequent intervals.

Patient feels anxiety in pit of stomach.

Heart burning in the stomach and chest.

He/she vomits of blood, bile, green mucus, or brown-black mixed with blood due to irritation in stomach. On palpation abdomen is swollen and painful.

Ars.alb is useful in gastralgia from least food or drink.

Craves for acids, milk and coffee. 
Heartburn. Long-lasting eructations. 

Gastralgia from small quantities of food or drink.

Bad effects of vegetable diet. Gastroenteritis and gatralgia after having melons, and watery fruits. 

Rectum symptoms

Painful stools.
Burning pain during and after stools.
Diarrhoea  after cool drinks, cold food, spoiled meat, alcohol and fruits.
Tenesmus. 

Small, offensive, dark stools , with much prostration. 
Dark, bloody, very offensive. stools in Dysentery.
Cholera, with intense agony, prostration, and burning thirst. 
Body as cold as ice . 
Hemorrhoids or piles burns like fire. Skin excoriation around the anus.

Urine symptoms

Urine is scanty, involuntary, burning.
Bright's disease. 
Diabetes mellitus.

Female symptoms

Menses too profuse and too soon. 
Burning in ovarian region. 
Leucorrhœa or white discharge is offensive, acrid, burning. 
Burning pains in both ovaries.
Menorrhagia. 

Respiratory symptoms

Patient is unable to lie down due to asthma.
Asthma worse midnight. 
Burning in chest. 
Cough with scanty and frothy expectoration worse after midnight, worse lying on back.
Darting pain through upper third of right lung. 
Dry Cough.

Heart symptoms

Irritable heart in smokers and tobacco users. 

Angina pectoris with pain in neck and occiput.

Back symptoms

Pain and burning in back.

Trembling, twitching, spasms, weakness, heaviness, uneasiness in back.

Sciatica. Peripheral neuritis. 
Diabetic gangrene. Paralysis of lower limbs with atrophy.
Ulcers on heel . 

Skin symptoms

Dry and Scaly.
Itching and burning.
Malignant pustules. 
Urticaria, with burning and restlessness. Ulcers with offensive discharge.

Fever symptoms

High temperature. 
Periodicity marked in fevers. 
Septic fevers. 
Intermittent. Typhoid. Paroxysms incomplete (with marked exhaustion).

Great restlessness. 

Modalities

Aggravation(Worse) from- open air, right side, wet weather, after midnight; from cold, cold drinks, or food. Seashore.
